Will's 1st RV Camping Trip

Will and I had the pleasure of going on our 1st RV Camping trip with Grandma and Grandpa Wallace. They reserved a beach site up at Southwick Beach on Lake Ontario, where we used to go all the time as children. Will and I decided to head up there for a sleepover. Will was so excited that he was going to get to sleep in the "bus" with Grandma and Grandpa Wallace. Unfortunately the weather was less than ideal; cold and rainy. But that did not stop the little guy from getting in Lake Ontario with Grandpa Wallace both days; we just had to make sure it was only for 10-15 minutes to prevent him from becoming hypothermic. Since it rained on Thursday we ended up taking a road trip up to see Great- Great Aunt Ethel. We had not seen her since Will was 3 1/2 months old, so it worked out great that we got to spend the afternoon with her. She will be 96 next February. Friday the sun came out and the weather was much better, but it was still chilly. Grandpa Wallace made sure to build a small fire for Will before we headed back home on Friday night. Will slept like a champ in the RV, and despite the weather, we had a great time. We will have to make sure to go back next year, and hopefully the weather will be better!!

We bought tickets to go to the Genesee Country Museum's Labor Day Weekend Fireworks last week. They were rescheduled once due to weather. Grandma Wallace, Will, "Uncle" Matt, "Aunt" Rebecca, and I went to the rescheduled fireworks. Bill was unable to go due to a fantasy football draft. It was a little drizzly but we enjoyed listening to the Beatles cover band and enjoyed the festival type food. Will got his face painted and was transformed into Simba. Unfortunately, there was a malfunction with the equipment and the fireworks were canceled. I was really worried that Will would not take it well but he did pretty well with the news. We got reimbursed for our tickets and will have to try again next year.
