Merry Christmas

We had an excellent Christmas this year. Will did not get the memo that it was Christmas and not a work day, and woke us up at 5:50 am. We brought him into our bed and he watched Cars while we tried to get a few more minutes of sleep. Then we all got up and went downstairs to see what Santa had brought. We helped Will open his stocking. He received three Thomas the Train pieces from Santa in his stocking, and he was content stopping there. He went into the family room and played with his trains and did not care that there was a tree full of unopened presents in the other room. Once we were able to get him away from the train table, we had breakfast and then went back into the living room to open presents. We had a great morning!

Grandma and Grandpa Wallace headed over to our house around 10 am on Christmas morning. They called when they were nearby and daddy took Will upstairs to go potty. While they were upstairs, I helped Grandma and Grandpa bring in all the presents and bring the kitchen from Grandma and Grandpa up from the basement. Will was very surprised to see a whole new group of wrapped presents under the tree, and his new kitchen ready for him to play with. We had a great afternoon celebrating Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa Wallace!

On Saturday afternoon we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Zink's house for another Christmas celebration. Great- Aunt Donna, Great- Uncle Bruce, and Great- Grandpa Povio were all there to help us celebrate. We had a very nice afternoon!

Happy Christmas Eve!

We had a very nice Christmas Eve. Will and I started the day off by going to visit our friends the Grusecks. Their sons Jack and Jared had not seen Will in almost 1 1/2 years. The boys were so good with Will and they all had a great time playing. Jack and Jared loved picking Will up and showing him around their Grandma's house. And we even got to have a surprise visit from Daddy, who came to hang out from work. It was so great to see the Grusecks and we hope to see them again soon!

Later that afternoon Bill, Will, and I met Grandma and Grandpa Wallace at our church for a 4 pm Children's service. Will had to take two brief breaks from the service, but otherwise he did pretty well. Then we headed over to Great- Aunt Judy and Great- Uncle Ray's. We stopped by a neighborhood on the way over to check out all the Christmas lights, which Will really liked. At Ray and Judy's we got to see Grandma and Grandpa Zink, Great- Grandpa Povio, Great- Aunt Donna, Great- Uncle Bruce, and cousins Lindsay, Brian, Rebecca, Claudia, and Natalie. Will and Claudia had a lot of fun playing together; it is cute how she still refers to him as "Baby Will". We had a very nice dinner and a nice evening hanging out with the family. Then we headed back home and went to bed awaiting Santa's arrival.

Today Will and I went to a holiday party at our friends Kristi and Giada's house. We had a great time playing with bubbles, eating pizza for lunch, and the kids favorite part, an ice cream cone for dessert. Will really enjoyed playing with his 3 girl friends.

Grandma and Grandpa Wallace came over and spent the afternoon with us on Sunday. Grandma Wallace and I did some Christmas shopping while Will took his nap. The guys watched football and once we got back, Will helped us make cookies. We were making daddy's favorite, peanut butter blossoms. Will was a great helper and tried really hard to follow directions, although he was caught "red handed" a few times not following directions. He seemed to really enjoy helping make the cookies, and we are all enjoying eating them.

We took Will to our local Garden Factory for all of their holiday festivities on Saturday after I got out of work. There was an amazing train display that Will loved. And it had raised ramps all around the display so that the little ones can see all of the display without their parents having to hold them up to see the trains. We also got to see a really cool light show where all the Christmas lights blinked with the music. Will seemed to really enjoy that. There were also lots of carnival rides, a big bouncy house, a huge slide, and a train. And our trip would not have been complete without a visit to see Santa. Will wanted nothing to do with Santa until he went to give him a candy cane. I was then able to coax him to sit on Santa's lap, although I was not able to get him to smile. We had a great time at the Garden Factory!!
