Will's 1st Snow Expedition

Will's 1st Sled Ride

It is hard to believe that it is supposed to be spring when there is snow on the ground. Since we got a few inches of snow two nights ago we thought it would be the perfect time to take Will out in the snow before it melts and the warm weather sticks around. We bundled him up in one of his snow suits and ventured outside. He took a brief sled ride around the front yard before we came back in because it was pretty chilly out. The sled is extra special; Great- Grandpa Hafermalz made it 30+ years ago for his first grandson, Will's Uncle Tom. Next winter it will probably be hard to keep him out of the snow. We hope he enjoyed his first snow adventure; it was extra bright and sunny outside for it.

We're Having So Much Fun!

We Love Baby Gymboree

Will has been really enjoying going to Baby Gymboree on Friday afternoons. We hope he will get a classmate or two soon since it has just been us and the teacher the last few times. We did not have class last Friday because of Good Friday, so it had been two weeks since we were there last. Yesterday he had a good time and it was extra special because daddy took the day off from work, so he got to come with us to story time and Gymboree. The difference in two weeks was amazing. He was so much more alert for bubble time than two weeks ago. We look forward to Gymboree every week and hope a new "student" joins the class soon.

Will's 1st Easter

Donna's Bunny Cake- Happy Easter

Will had a very enjoyable 1st Easter today. We started off the day doing the Easter Basket exchange with Will. Then we met Grandma and Grandpa Zink and Great Aunt Donna and Great Uncle Bruce at Walmart for coffee. Then we came home and let Will get a good nap in before we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Zink's for Easter dinner. Will looked absolutely adorable in his Easter outfit. We spent the afternoon over there and then came back home and relaxed the rest of the night. I know Will is not going to remember his 1st Easter, but we surely will and we have lots of great pictures to show him when he gets older. Happy Easter Everyone!!

Happy Easter

We are all excited for Will's first Easter. We will have to be creative with what we fill his Easter basket with, since he is a little young for chocolate and candy. Yesterday while I was at the mall picking up his 2 month pictures from JC Penneys, we decided to go visit with the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny was busy eating carrots, so we waited around until we could meet him. I think this is the first picture that actually captured one of Will's smiles. He is smiling all the time now but we never seem to catch him smiling in a picture. We hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

Growing Up So Fast...

It is so hard to believe how fast Will is growing up. He has doubled his birth weight in the first 10 1/2 weeks of his life. He is over 10.5 lbs now and keeps getting bigger every day. He is almost a big enough boy to sit in his Bumbo chair. On Friday, I put him in it and he watched his first Baby Einstein video, which he loved. He watched Neptune's video about under water life. His eyes were so big as he watched all the colors on the tv. Friday he also went to his first official Baby Gymboree class, which he really enjoyed. Grandma Wallace had a half day of school so she was able to meet us there to see what goes on in his 45 minute class. Unfortunately Will was the only student this week. Last Friday I went for a free class and there was a 6 month old boy and a 7 month old boy in class. The 7 month old boy's name is also William Michael. We will be looking forward to Baby Gymboree every Friday and I can not wait to sign him up for swimming lessons at the YMCA when he is 6 months old. He is going to have to be a water lover since we will be spending lots of time over at Wally World in the summer! It will be a nice change from the cold and snowy weather we have been having lately. We did get to go for our first walk around the block about 2 weeks ago when we had a 65 degree day. Will slept for the whole walk but it was nice to be able to take the dogs out for a walk.

Boy How Time Flies...

Well, my maternity leave is officially over. I started back at work yesterday. Where did the last 10 weeks go? Will spent the day over at Grandma and Grandpa Wallace's house and got to have some male bonding time with Grandpa. Grandpa is convinced that Will is already enjoying ESPN Sportscenter; I think he just likes all the bright colors. I did really well with saying goodbye to him yesterday morning as I headed off for my first 12 hour day back at work. I did get to go over there for lunch, although Will slept the whole time I was there. It is such a relief knowing what good hands he will be in the next several months, with the four grandparents each taking days off to watch him. We are so lucky to have them all living so close to us. We really had to twist their arms to get them to agree to watch him 8). He is growing up so fast...

Will's First Road Trip

This past weekend Will went on his first road trip. We drove down to NJ for a long weekend to visit Great Grandpa Wallace, Great Aunt Linda and Great Uncle Pat, Cousins Jason, Heather, and Marc, and a good friend from vet school Nancy. We had a great time. We got to see Jason and Heather's new house, which is gorgeous. We also ended up getting to spend some time with Uncle Jeff, Aunt Robyn, and Cousins Rylie and Avery, who were in town visiting Robyn's brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Tina. Cousin Avery is finally feeling better, so Will was able to meet her. It was great to see everyone! The weather was great both days that we drove. Will did very well on his first road trip. He slept the whole way down and almost the whole way home. The night before we left he slept for 8 hours and we had to wake him up. Over the weekend he slept anywhere from 5-8 hours overnight. Hopefully we are starting a new trend of sleeping through the night. We really enjoyed our visit to NJ and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon!
