Happy 4th of July

Made In The USA

We had an excellent 4th of July weekend, along with a great week leading up to the 4th of July. Will' cousin Rylie came home with Grandma Wallace from Rhode Island and spent the week with us. Will and Rylie had a great time playing together, and Grandma Wallace, Bill, and I made sure to do several fun activities with them. We took Rylie to one of Will's favorite play places, Kango, and he showed his cousin all the fun things they could do there. Will's current favorite is roller skating.

We spent one morning at the zoo and they had a great time seeing all the animals. It was the first time that I have seen both polar bears out in their exhibit at the same time.

We took them to one of the nearby playgrounds and walked to the canal to try and feed the ducks, but there were no ducks to be seen.

On Friday night Uncle Jeff, Aunt Robyn, and Will's other cousin Avery headed into town. We celebrated the 4th of July by taking them to Corbett's Glen in the morning, and then spent the afternoon lounging around the pool at Wally World. The weather could not have been more perfect for the weekend, although I was very uncomfortable with the heat and being 26 weeks pregnant. The 4th of July marked the beginning of the third trimester!!

The night of the 4th we went to the town's local fireworks. It was Will's second time going to the fireworks and he could not get enough of them. As we were walking back to the car, he kept asking for "More booms please". We had an excellent 4th of July!!

24 Weeks

It is hard to believe that we are almost into the third trimester of this pregnancy. It has gone by so fast. "Bean" is approximately 2 lbs right now and is becoming more active every day. Thankfully "Bean" moving around has not been keeping me up at night, but could be part of the reason I wake up a million times a night. We are all very excited to meet our new bundle of joy in a little over 3 months and become a family of 4! Will went to give me a kiss goodnight the other night, and without prompting, said goodnight "Baby Bean". He is so stinkin cute!!!

Happy Father's Day

Bill had a very enjoyable Father's Day. We met Grandma and Grandpa Zink and Great- Aunt Donna at Denny's for breakfast. Then Bill and I took Will to see his first movie in a movie theater; Toy Story 3. We were not sure how he would do in a theater setting, but he did really well. And all 3 of us really enjoyed the movie. In the afternoon we just relaxed at the house, watched Will play in his kiddie pool, and enjoyed each others company. Next year Father's Day falls on my birthday; if only Will would be old enough to cook both of us breakfast in bed 8).

Early 5 Year Anniversary Celebration

Bill and I decided to plan a mini- vacation to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary, which is July 16, 2010. We ended up celebrating it a month early with a trip to North Carolina to visit some friends and get some much needed R & R. We had a great time, with the exception of the exceptionally hot, humid heat. Everyone said that the weather we experienced normally doesn't occur until August, so of course it is going to occur in early June when I am 22 weeks pregnant. But we survived the heat and spent a lot of time outdoors. One of my favorite parts of the trip was our visit to the Lazy 5 Ranch, which is a privately owned exotic animal drive- thru park that offers a 3.5 mile safari. While visiting the Lazy 5 Ranch we had the opportunity to view over 750 animals from six different continents. It was really cool. We also did a sunset cruise, played miniature golf, lots of touristy stuff, checked out the Taste of Charlotte, and enjoyed spending time with our good friends. It was a great trip that both Bill and I needed! We missed Will immensely but enjoyed spending quality time just the two of us.

A few days before we went away, we decided to make some cupcakes with Will. He was a huge help! He helped pour all the ingredients in the bowl and helped stir the batter. After they cooked he was really excited to help frost the cupcakes, and tried really hard to copy what I was doing...

Farm Fun

Today Will and I went with my friend Kristi and her daughter Giada to their family dairy farm. It was a drizzly morning and the farm was pretty muddy, but that did not stop us from having a great time. Will really enjoyed seeing all the animals, especially the young calves. When we went into the sheep pen, I went to get my camera out, and Lenny head butted Will in the chest and knocked him on his back. Will was a little scared but once he shook it off, he laughed and said that "Lenny Body- Slammed Will". Lenny was then put in "time out". Libby kept trying to eat the tassel on my capris and Will kept saying "Silly Libby eating mommy's pants".
