Memorial Day "Stay"cation At Wally World

We had a very laid back Memorial Day Weekend this year. Grandma and Grandpa Wallace went to Rhode Island to help celebrate Cousin Avery's 2nd Birthday, so we decided to move over there for the weekend and take advantage of Wally World being open. We packed up all our stuff and the two dogs and headed over there Friday afternoon. Will showed us that he must have been a fish in a previous life because he was obsessed with the water. He spent several hours each day in the pool and he loved to get splashed and go under water.

Sunday we invited two other families to come over in the afternoon for swimming and a BBQ. The weather in the morning did not look too promising so we decided to walk to the nearby school where Grandma Wallace works. Will went down most of the slides and was even saying "One, Two" before he would go down each time. We left just in time because as we were walking home it started to rain.

After a few light showers, the sun came out and we had a gorgeous afternoon.

Monday morning we headed into the Town of Pittsford for the Memorial Day Parade. We met up with two of my friends and Will's friends Benjamin and Pierson. The boys seemed to really enjoy the parade, especially all the big fire trucks, etc. It was pretty neat to go to that parade since I used to march in it when I was in Brownies and Girl Scouts and when I was in the Marching Band in school. Maybe someday Will and his friends will march in it for Boy Scouts.

After Will's nap we decided to go outside for one last dip in the pool before we headed back to our house. After swimming for a few hours we had Will dry off and have a snack.

We had an excellent Memorial Day Weekend; glad the weather cooperated with our plans to be lazy and lounge around the pool.

Breakfast With Babies And Park Fun

This morning we celebrated a friend's birthday by having a babies breakfast out. A bunch of us met at Perkins to enjoy some good company and food. The server didn't seem to be used to waiting on tables with children, as it took forever for the kids to get their food. For the most part, they were all troopers and were as patient as 18 month olds can be.

After breakfast several of us met at a local park for a Bubble party. The kids seemed to enjoy the bubbles, although it was a little too windy to really get the bubbles going. They all had fun playing on the playground and finished the morning with some watermelon.

Youngest American Idol Fan

When I went to see American Idol Tour in the Summer of 2007, I was pregnant with Will. So he was enjoying American Idol in the womb, making him the Youngest American Idol Fan.

Over the past month, other than 1 day, Will has gone on the potty every day, usually 2-3 times each day. We are so proud of you buddy; you are getting to be such a big boy!

2 days ago tooth number 8 arrived, so now Will has four teeth on both the top and bottom.

Backyard Play

With the gorgeous weather we have been having, Will and I have made sure to get outside as often as we can. He loves to play in the backyard with all of his outdoor toys.

More With The Lilac Festival

Yesterday my friend Brooke and I tried to brave the weather and go to the Lilac Festival to listen to the children's concert at lunchtime. When we arrived the weather was not too bad, just very windy. But half an hour into the concert we found ourselves hurrying to the car trying to avoid getting wet. During the concert I turned to Will and he was holding onto a purple ball. Apparently with the windy weather the purple ball rolled over the hill and landed right in Will's lap. Thanks for the free ball! After getting rained out we went back to our house and the boys played. Then we tried to brave the weather again to go for a walk; the weather was much more favorable then.

Today we decided to go back to the Lilac Festival one last time. We met my friend Renee and her son Pierson there and we walked around for awhile. Then we sat on the lawn and enjoyed some of the live music with Passafire playing.

Favorite Things To Do

There are several things that Will would consider his favorite things. He loves to do splashes (AKA bathtime), he loves to raid the food cupboard and empty out all the granola bars and oatmeal packets, he loves to play with his train table, he loves to give hugs, and he is still obsessed with the phone. He will use anything he can to pretend he is talking on the phone; his sippie cup, a hunk of banana, a french toast stick, and the latest is his one foot. He just talks away at these objects and holds them as if they were telephones. What will he think of next?

Yesterday Will's 7th tooth broke through; exactly 6 months since his 1st tooth arrived. It is the upper right 2nd incisor, so now he has 4 teeth on the top and 3 teeth on the bottom. I am sure the other bottom tooth won't be far behind.
