Happy Easter
We are all excited for Will's first Easter. We will have to be creative with what we fill his Easter basket with, since he is a little young for chocolate and candy. Yesterday while I was at the mall picking up his 2 month pictures from JC Penneys, we decided to go visit with the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny was busy eating carrots, so we waited around until we could meet him. I think this is the first picture that actually captured one of Will's smiles. He is smiling all the time now but we never seem to catch him smiling in a picture. We hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

Growing Up So Fast...
It is so hard to believe how fast Will is growing up. He has doubled his birth weight in the first 10 1/2 weeks of his life. He is over 10.5 lbs now and keeps getting bigger every day. He is almost a big enough boy to sit in his Bumbo chair. On Friday, I put him in it and he watched his first Baby Einstein video, which he loved. He watched Neptune's video about under water life. His eyes were so big as he watched all the colors on the tv. Friday he also went to his first official Baby Gymboree class, which he really enjoyed. Grandma Wallace had a half day of school so she was able to meet us there to see what goes on in his 45 minute class. Unfortunately Will was the only student this week. Last Friday I went for a free class and there was a 6 month old boy and a 7 month old boy in class. The 7 month old boy's name is also William Michael. We will be looking forward to Baby Gymboree every Friday and I can not wait to sign him up for swimming lessons at the YMCA when he is 6 months old. He is going to have to be a water lover since we will be spending lots of time over at Wally World in the summer! It will be a nice change from the cold and snowy weather we have been having lately. We did get to go for our first walk around the block about 2 weeks ago when we had a 65 degree day. Will slept for the whole walk but it was nice to be able to take the dogs out for a walk.

Boy How Time Flies...
Well, my maternity leave is officially over. I started back at work yesterday. Where did the last 10 weeks go? Will spent the day over at Grandma and Grandpa Wallace's house and got to have some male bonding time with Grandpa. Grandpa is convinced that Will is already enjoying ESPN Sportscenter; I think he just likes all the bright colors. I did really well with saying goodbye to him yesterday morning as I headed off for my first 12 hour day back at work. I did get to go over there for lunch, although Will slept the whole time I was there. It is such a relief knowing what good hands he will be in the next several months, with the four grandparents each taking days off to watch him. We are so lucky to have them all living so close to us. We really had to twist their arms to get them to agree to watch him 8). He is growing up so fast...

Will's First Road Trip
This past weekend Will went on his first road trip. We drove down to NJ for a long weekend to visit Great Grandpa Wallace, Great Aunt Linda and Great Uncle Pat, Cousins Jason, Heather, and Marc, and a good friend from vet school Nancy. We had a great time. We got to see Jason and Heather's new house, which is gorgeous. We also ended up getting to spend some time with Uncle Jeff, Aunt Robyn, and Cousins Rylie and Avery, who were in town visiting Robyn's brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Tina. Cousin Avery is finally feeling better, so Will was able to meet her. It was great to see everyone! The weather was great both days that we drove. Will did very well on his first road trip. He slept the whole way down and almost the whole way home. The night before we left he slept for 8 hours and we had to wake him up. Over the weekend he slept anywhere from 5-8 hours overnight. Hopefully we are starting a new trend of sleeping through the night. We really enjoyed our visit to NJ and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

First Vaccine Appointment
Guess who is 9 lbs 2 1/2 oz? Will had his first vaccine appointment today and we were all shocked with how much he weighs. He has gained almost 4 lbs in the 8 weeks he has been around. We were guessing he would be around 8 lbs; boy were we wrong. That goes to show what a good eater he has become. He does like to spit up a lot but it is of no concern since he is gaining weight as well as he is and does not seem to get distressed when he spits up. He had a clean bill of health today and had to get 3 shots and a liquid vaccine.
He drank the liquid vaccine very well; apparently it is supposed to taste sweet and salty. He then got 2 shots in his right thigh and 1 shot in his left thigh. He screamed and turned bright red in the face for about 10 seconds. Then daddy picked him up and he calmed right down and was asleep by the time we put him in his car seat. We think he took his shots like a champ. He has had an exciting couple of days. He had to go and get some blood work done yesterday. He barely even cried while the technicians tried to hit his little vein. This morning he had his pediatrician appointment and this afternoon he has his 2 month eye checkup. Hopefully after today we will not have to go to see the doctor until his 4 month checkup on May 6.

Baptism Weekend
This past weekend was a very exciting weekend for all of us. Not only did Will get baptized yesterday, but he got to meet several more family members. His Uncle Tom, Aunt Meghan, and cousins Erin and Jeffrey drove up from VA for the special occasion. They were with us for Christmas but headed back to VA 5 days before Will's 6 week early arrival. His Uncle Jeff and cousin Rylie came from RI for the baptism. Sadly, his Aunt Robyn and cousin Avery had to stay behind in RI because cousin Avery has been sick with bronchitis. We missed having them here for Will's special day and they were certainly in our thoughts. Robyn's mom Diana also came along and got to meet out little man. Hopefully cousin Avery will be feeling better soon and then she can go to NJ next weekend and we can see them all again there. Prepare for picture overload...
Di Di With Will

Will's baptism was on Sunday at Katie's church. What made the event even more special was his outfit. The outfit he wore was the same outfit Bill wore when he was baptized 28 1/2 years ago. During the ceremony the minister took Will out into the congregation to introduce him to everyone. While he was walking with Will down the center aisle, Will decided it was the perfect time to spit up. The church carpet and the minister's sleeve got christened with Will's milk. After the church service the minister told us he has seen a lot of things over the years, but a baby spitting up during their baptism was a first. Will has made a good first impression at the church he will grow up at. After the baptism everyone came back to our house for a nice luncheon. Thanks to everyone who helped make this a special weekend for us!

Enjoying All The Visitors
We have all been really enjoying all the visitors that have been coming over to visit Will. Several of Katie's coworkers have come over on lunch to see the little guy. Our friends Matt and Rebecca come over often to visit. The numerous visits from the grandparents has been very enjoyable by all of us (except when Grandma Zink beats us all in Wii bowling). Last night Bill's coworker Brian and his wife Angie and 6 year old son Ryan came to visit. Today Aunt Donna and Uncle Bruce came over to spend some quality time with Will. We have enjoyed everyone's visits and visitors are always welcome. Tomorrow night Grandma Wallace is coming over for a sleepover so that mommy can have a night off of middle of the night feedings. Mommy is looking forward to that.
