8 Days Left of Daycare

The countdown has begun until Will is done with daycare. His last official day of daycare is Wednesday June 24. After that he will be hanging out with Grandma Zink on Mondays and Wednesdays, as she is now retired! Will is looking forward to all the quality time he will get to spend with Grandma Zink!

Day Trip to Meadville, PA

Today Will and I took a little road trip to Meadville, PA. Uncle Tom and Aunt Meghan drove up to Meadville for Alleghany College's Alumni Weekend and brought Cousins Erin and Jeffrey with them. Grandma Wallace was asked to go down for the weekend to help watch the kiddos and so Will and I decided to follow Grandma Wallace down and spend the day with Will's cousins. We got there and took the children to the hotel pool.

Then we got dressed and went to Applebee's for lunch. "Aunt" Rebecca grew up in Meadville so I asked her for some suggestions of fun things to do with the kids. We took them to the Spillway at Pymatuning Park. This is a place where 1,000's of carp come to get fed bread by the tourists. The kids seemed to really enjoy going there; I personally thought it was kind of gross seeing all those carp on top of each other fighting for the bread.

After that we went to a playground on Alleghany's campus and let the kids run around; Will's favorite thing to do was the slide.

Then we met Uncle Tom and Aunt Meghan at Red Lobster for dinner and then Will and I headed home, as I have to work tomorrow.

It was great to spend the day with Erin and Jeffrey and for Will to get some quality cousin time. We can't wait until we get to see them again!

Afternoon At Springdale Farms

This afternoon I took Will to Springdale Farms for a tour of the Dairy Barn and a Robotic Milking Machine Demonstration. He was supposed to fall asleep on the ride out there and sleep for his normal 2 hour nap, but he decided to wake up after 45 minutes. We played on the playground for awhile waiting for the 2pm tour. The milking machine was not working when the tour started, so we were shown the rest of the barn with hopes that the farmer would arrive to fix the milking machine. The cows were all lined up anxiously waiting to be milked. After the demo, we walked through the barns and stopped at the petting zoo before heading home. Will seemed to really enjoy seeing all the different farm animals.

Memorial Day "Stay"cation At Wally World

We had a very laid back Memorial Day Weekend this year. Grandma and Grandpa Wallace went to Rhode Island to help celebrate Cousin Avery's 2nd Birthday, so we decided to move over there for the weekend and take advantage of Wally World being open. We packed up all our stuff and the two dogs and headed over there Friday afternoon. Will showed us that he must have been a fish in a previous life because he was obsessed with the water. He spent several hours each day in the pool and he loved to get splashed and go under water.

Will At His Handy Manny Patio Table

Sunday we invited two other families to come over in the afternoon for swimming and a BBQ. The weather in the morning did not look too promising so we decided to walk to the nearby school where Grandma Wallace works. Will went down most of the slides and was even saying "One, Two" before he would go down each time. We left just in time because as we were walking home it started to rain.

After a few light showers, the sun came out and we had a gorgeous afternoon.

Monday morning we headed into the Town of Pittsford for the Memorial Day Parade. We met up with two of my friends and Will's friends Benjamin and Pierson. The boys seemed to really enjoy the parade, especially all the big fire trucks, etc. It was pretty neat to go to that parade since I used to march in it when I was in Brownies and Girl Scouts and when I was in the Marching Band in school. Maybe someday Will and his friends will march in it for Boy Scouts.

After Will's nap we decided to go outside for one last dip in the pool before we headed back to our house. After swimming for a few hours we had Will dry off and have a snack.

We had an excellent Memorial Day Weekend; glad the weather cooperated with our plans to be lazy and lounge around the pool.

Breakfast With Babies And Park Fun

This morning we celebrated a friend's birthday by having a babies breakfast out. A bunch of us met at Perkins to enjoy some good company and food. The server didn't seem to be used to waiting on tables with children, as it took forever for the kids to get their food. For the most part, they were all troopers and were as patient as 18 month olds can be.

After breakfast several of us met at a local park for a Bubble party. The kids seemed to enjoy the bubbles, although it was a little too windy to really get the bubbles going. They all had fun playing on the playground and finished the morning with some watermelon.
