This weekend Will and I went down to VA to visit Uncle Tom, Aunt Meghan, and Cousins Erin and Jeffrey. Grandma Wallace had off for February break, so she and Grandpa Wallace were planning to come down for a few days. When I found out I had Saturday off from work, we decided to join them. Unfortunately Bill had to work Thursday and Friday, so he stayed home and our friend "Uncle" Thom came up to hang out with Bill for the weekend. We left Grandpa Wallace behind while Will was napping one afternoon and took the kids bowling. Everyone had a great time doing that. We all bundled up one afternoon and took a walk to the nearby lake. We got to see two resident swans swimming around. We also went to a German Restaurant Saturday night to celebrate Uncle Tom's Birthday a few weeks early. We really enjoyed our visit and can't wait to see everyone again soon; if only VA was a little closer. As always, photo overload...

Play Date At The Nursing Home
Today several moms met up for a play date at a local nursing home. We spent an hour in the Alzheimer's wing. It was so great to see how excited the residents were to be able to watch the little ones play. And all the children had a great time playing with all the toys the nursing home provided. There were balloons, a parachute, lots of books and trucks and matchbox cars. We look forward to doing it again next month.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Will had a great 2nd Valentine's Day. He got to spend most of it with Grandma and Grandpa Zink. Mommy and daddy had a surprise 30th birthday party for a good friend in Erie, PA. They left Will home and he got to spend some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa Zink. We all had a great Valentine's Day.

Stomach Bug Has Plagued The Zink Household
We all seem to finally be getting back on our feet again. Last Saturday I was rudely awoken in the middle of the night with some major GI issues from both the North Pole and the South Pole. I made sure that I did not lay my hands on Will all weekend and once I was feeling better I disinfected the house. I was optimistic that we had done a good job and that Bill and Will would avoid being sick. But I was wrong. Monday night Bill woke up with the same problems and Tuesday morning we found the same problems with Will. Bill has been feeling better since Tuesday night and Will seems to be feeling better now. But the poor little guy has some major diaper rash and sores from "the runs". I am glad to see that we all seem to be feeling better now, and hopefully we did not get anyone else sick.

Will's 1st Snowman
On Super Bowl Sunday we had a heat wave here, with the temperature in the mid 40's. After going out to lunch with Grandma and Grandpa Zink, Will went home with them for the afternoon so we could run errands and take a nap. Once we got home from running errands we decided to take the dogs for a walk. Then we decided it was the perfect day to get out the snowman making kit that Grandma Wallace got us for Christmas. It was a lot of fun making the snowman, and it made us feel like kids again. Needless to say, we never got to take our nap.

Will's 2nd Super Bowl Sunday
Grandpa Zink's Birthday Celebration
We went out to lunch today to celebrate Grandpa Zink's birthday. We went to a steakhouse that has a talking Buffalo over the bar. Grandpa Zink thought Will might get a kick out of it. We had a really nice lunch. It is amazing what an impact having a grandchild can have. Prior to today's lunch, if we ever mentioned having the waiter sing Happy Birthday to Grandpa Zink, he would not have been thrilled. But today, since he was with Will, he said he did not care. I think they both got a kick out of the Happy Birthday Serenade.

Peek A Boo
Will has been starting to scoot around quite well on his butt. He still has no interest in learning to crawl. We asked the pediatrician if we should be concerned and she said no. With him being 6 weeks premature, it is fairly common that they take longer to develop the gross motor skills needed to crawl and walk. Her only concern is that his mind is going to continue to develop and she doesn't want him to start to get really frustrated or throw tantrums because he can't move. We had an initial consultation with Early Intervention Services last week and are waiting to have him evaluated. The program, if he is eligible, is basically physical therapy for babies. The pediatrician is very impressed with his fine motor skills and thinks it will just take some time before he is ready to be mobile. We are certainly okay with him still being fairly immobile, especially since it will be a whole new way of life once we have a mobile child. Another tooth came in a few days ago, which brings his total tooth count to 4.
