Happy Mother's Day

I had a wonderful 2nd Mother's Day. Will decided to start it extra early by waking up at 4:30. Bill insisted on getting up with him so I was able to doze on and off for a little while longer. Then I was given breakfast in bed, which is always nice. Bill and Will made me an awesome Mother's Day gift, with the help of Grandma and Grandpa Zink.

The three of us then headed off to the Medina Railroad Museum to go to A Day With Thomas The Train. It included a 25 minute train ride; it was really cute.

After that we headed back to Rochester to pick up Grandma and Grandpa Zink and we went to Canandaigua Lake to Mother's Day Brunch at Bristol Harbor for the second year in a row. Grandma and Grandpa Wallace were in VA for the weekend to see Uncle Tom, Aunt Meghan, and Cousin Erin in the play Peter Pan. Brunch was excellent and we got to enjoy the scenic view of the lake. It was a perfect day; the only thing that would have made it better would have been if it was a little warmer than 46 degrees. The last two days it was in the 70's but today it was very frigid. Thanks for another great Mother's Day!

Ducks At The Canal

We had planned to head over to Schoen Place and feed the ducks and take a walk on the canal this afternoon. We had a pretty bad rainstorm so we thought we would not be able to do it today. But then the weather cleared up and it turned out to be a decent afternoon, although it was extremely windy. When we fed the ducks, we were not sure if Will was more excited about the ducks or the wind blowing in his face. Afterward we went and got some ice cream. We had hoped to take a walk on the canal but it was getting colder with all the wind, so we just called it a day and went home.

Lilac Festival 2009

Today was the first day of the Lilac Festival. Going on the weekends is insane, so we decided to go today before all the arts and crafts vendors were set up. Will and I headed over there after his nap and Bill met us there after work. We took our traditional pictures, got our Kettle Corn, walked around a bit, and then settled on the lawn to listen to the concert, The Demos. Will and I will probably go once or twice during the week next week for the kids concert at lunchtime. The Lilac Festival is always a good time!

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Today we went to a friends house for a Cinco de Mayo Party. There were nacho chips, guacamole, salsa, and cheese quesadillas. The hostess had several crafts for the kids to do; color, make a Mexican Wand, and singing Cinco de Mayo songs. It was a lot of fun!

Flower Days

This spring I was surprised with daffodils and tulips. We have talked about planting them every year, so last fall Bill and his mom planted a bunch of bulbs while I was at work one Saturday. And Bill did not tell me, so it was a nice surprise when they started growing.

Will Blowing Kisses

Today several moms and our boys decided to go to Powdermill Park and hike to the Wild Daffodil Meadow. It was a 0.7 mile walk along a stream. Will rode on my back in my Ergo carrier and it was a very nice walk. Once we got to the meadow the daffodils were all in bloom. The boys seemed to have fun playing in the flowers. We will have to remember to go back next year. It is so amazing that I grew up here and I don't think I have ever been to the Daffodil Meadow.
