Water Babies

We were fortunate that daddy could join us for Water Babies last week. He did not swim with us but he did take lots of pictures and videos, and he got to see how much fun Will is having swimming. Surprisingly he does not seem to mind when I immerse him under water. We only have one more week of Water Babies but we definitely plan to do it again during the Winter session.

Pumpkins Everywhere

Today we did a really fun fall activity. We discovered a local "gem" 10 minutes up the road. It is hard to believe that after growing up in Rochester neither of us had ever been here before. We took Will to Stokoe Farms and "Aunt" Rebecca and "Uncle" Matt came with us. It is such a family oriented venue and we all had a blast. They had a wagon ride that took you all over the grounds, tractor wheel racers, pedal cars, mini- pumpkin launchers, a corn maze, a pumpkin patch, bee lines, and lots of farm animals. This is definitely a place that we will have to make into an annual event. What a great way to welcome the fall season!

Very Busy Boy

We have been very busy these last few weeks; trying to get as much outdoor time as we can before the winter is knocking on our door. Will started Water Babies this month and is thoroughly enjoying it. I think he was a fish in a previous life since he is obsessed with trying to drink the pool water and then starts choking afterwards. We have been spending time at parks and used a swing for the first time a few weeks ago. Will has been sitting up really well, which he started to do about a month ago. He still does not seem to have any interest in crawling. If I lay him on his stomach and put him in a crawling position, he collapses and rolls over and laughs. The dogs continue to do well with him. They constantly want to lick him. Our cat really enjoys being pet by Will, as long as he is gentle and doesn't try to pull out a clump of his hair. He brings such excitement to our lives every day and is such a happy little boy!

Labor Day Weekend

We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. The weather could not have been any better than it was. On Sat I had to work but got out 1 1/2 hours early. We went and visited with our good family friends the Noronha's and got to meet Elizabeth Noronha for the first time, who was born in April. Then we went to the open house of our day care, which built a brand new facility that is closer to our house, and opens tomorrow. It is a really nice building. Then daddy, Will, and I drove to Dansville for their annual Hot Air Balloon display. We watched about 45 hot air balloons launch from the Dansville airport. Will seemed to really enjoy all the colors.

Yesterday we had a bunch of family over to our house for a barbeque and it seemed like everyone enjoyed themselves. It is hard to believe but today is Will's 8 month birthday. We loaded Will and the dogs up and took a trip to the Lehigh Valley Trail and hiked along that. It was Will's first time in the backpack and he seemed to enjoy himself. We topped the weekend off with a stop at an ice cream shop and got milk shakes. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable Labor Day Weekend!

Weekend Away

This past weekend we took a trip to Erie and Pittsburgh. We left on Thursday evening and stopped in Buffalo to pick up "Uncle" Brian and then made our first pit stop in Erie. We stayed with "Uncle" Thom Thursday night. It was great catching up with him and it was a nice way to break up the trip. Friday we headed to Pittsburgh and we met up with a bunch of the fraternity gang at a restaurant. Then we said goodbye to daddy and he went off with the guys and Will and I went and spent the weekend with my high school friends Laura and Allison. Saturday was daddy's birthday and what better way for him to spend it than with golfing and a fantasy football draft with the fraternity brothers. On Sunday we headed home and stopped in Erie again so we could go and see what has been done to the Behrend campus since daddy graduated from there in December 2001. We had a nice weekend and it was great to see everyone. We hope to see everyone again soon!

Trip To Syracuse

Today Will and I took a trip to Syracuse to visit my college friends Julie and Ellee. Julie's son Nickolas is two months older than Will, and Ellee is expecting a little girl around Christmas. We made sure to take a trip to SU, which is where we all went to college. Once at the Quad we visited the Orange Grove, which is a place that alumni and fans can purchase bricks to be laid in their memory/ honor. In October 2006 a brick was placed for myself, Uncle Jeff, and Will's Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Hafermalz; all 4 of us graduated from SU.

Sunflowers Galore

One of the many beautiful sights of summer is the enormous sunflower field that is around every August. Each year we make sure to check it out; the colors are so vibrant. Will seemed to really enjoy looking at all the bright yellow sunflowers. There were plenty of bees around enjoying the flowers as well.
