Happy Mother's Day

I had a very nice 1st Mothers Day. We went to church in the morning with Grandma and Grandpa Wallace. Then we went to Bristol Harbor for Mother's Day Brunch with Grandma and Grandpa Wallace and Grandpa Zink. We missed Grandma Zink, who was in Arizona with Great- Grandpa Povio. We had a very nice brunch on Canandaigua Lake. Then we came home and relaxed the rest of the afternoon; mommy was even able to get an hour nap in while daddy hung out with Will (since Will was not going to allow us both to take a nap).

Meeting the Hafermalz Family

Today Will and I went to Central Square, NY with Grandma Wallace. Will's Great- Great Aunt Mary passed away last month and today was her funeral. Will got to meet some of Grandma Wallace's family. It was a pretty gloomy day weather- wise, but we had a good time hanging out with Great- Great Aunt Ethel up at camp on Oneida Lake afterwards. Camp is a very special place for Katie and her family, as they spent many times there camping, fishing, and riding in the boat. We hope that there will be lots of special memories there for Will too.

4 Month Checkup

Will had his 4 month doctors appointment today. He is now 12 lbs 13 oz and 25 inches long. He jumped from the 10th percentile to the 25th in weight and from the 10th percentile to the 50th in height. He was a trooper for his shots, although he got a little more upset this time than at his two month visit. We have never seen his face get so red. But within 3-5 minutes he was back to being all smiles again. He got another clean bill of health, and as long as he has no problems, he does not go back to the doctor until his 6 month appointment. He is such a happy baby! When we go in to get him up in the morning and peek into his crib, he usually has a smile from ear to ear. He is cooing and babbling all the time now. The dogs are doing great with him. Sam our cat is still not a huge fan of him, but he is starting to get a little more curious. Where has the last 4 months gone?

Hanging Out With The Zinks

Last weekend Will's Great- Aunt Dolly was in town from West Virginia. We decided to invite all of the Zink family to come over to see Will. It was great to see everyone. We all lead such busy lives and before you know it you are only seeing family at holidays and special occasions. It was a gorgeous day here on Sunday and it was great to be able to sit out on the deck and get some sunshine. Will was extremely tuckered out after all the visitors left. We hope to see you all again soon!

Out and About

Will went to the doctor the other day and weighed 11 lbs 14.5 oz. We figured he was probably close to 13 lbs; I guess we overestimated. We have been keeping busy over here at the Zink household. We have been going to story time at the local library twice a week, Baby Gymboree once a week, and we have been to the zoo twice (although Will slept most of the time we were there both times). We have had a few play dates at our house with some other babies and now that the weather has been nice, we try to get out for at least one walk a day (which Will usually uses as naptime). We took a road trip to Syracuse last week to visit our good friends Julie and Brian and their son Nickolas (who is 2 months older than Will). I am really enjoying working part time and getting to be a mom too!

Will's 1st Snow Expedition

Will's 1st Sled Ride

It is hard to believe that it is supposed to be spring when there is snow on the ground. Since we got a few inches of snow two nights ago we thought it would be the perfect time to take Will out in the snow before it melts and the warm weather sticks around. We bundled him up in one of his snow suits and ventured outside. He took a brief sled ride around the front yard before we came back in because it was pretty chilly out. The sled is extra special; Great- Grandpa Hafermalz made it 30+ years ago for his first grandson, Will's Uncle Tom. Next winter it will probably be hard to keep him out of the snow. We hope he enjoyed his first snow adventure; it was extra bright and sunny outside for it.
